This All You Need to Know one-day Data Ethics training course explores the ethical considerations around the use, collection, and utilization of data from a broader perspective.

Please be aware that this course will not teach you a set of correct ‘rules’ for ethics because there aren’t any! There is no right or wrong way to be ethical. All individuals have different views. However, what this course will teach you is the perfect process to follow to determine your own ethical approach and how to balance innovation with controls that minimize risk and harm.

This course uses recognized frameworks to give you a starting point when embedding ethics into your organizational design processes. It will cover aspects such as information sharing, discrimination, and bias in artificial intelligence and algorithms, the rights of the individual and the group, and the ethical considerations in developing, collecting, and using data.

Upon completing this course, you will have learned the right questions to ask to work out your organization’s ethics, values, and what tensions exist between them. You’ll also be able to consider your stakeholders’ values and needs to seek a favorable compromise for all those involved.
